Boise Cloth Diaperswas created by Joy Barry when she was expecting her first child and decided to use cloth diapers. Wanting to use cloth diapers but not looking forward to prefolds, plastic pants, and pins, she began searching for more "modern' cloth diapers. Searching online, Joy was overjoyed to find a whole new world of cloth diapers! She found all-in-one diapers as well as many other kinds of diapers, covers, and accessories. Still, she wished that there was some way to purchase these items locally instead of online. If only she could see and feel these wonderful alternatives to old school cloth diapers that she was finding online. Then, through word of mouth and diligent searching, she found that there were several cloth diaper businesses right in the Boise area. If only there was a central place where one could find these resources easily. Then a friend mentioned that she had wanted to use cloth diapers, but had given up when she couldn't find any "modern" diapers after browsing through a few local stores. Joy told her that she needed to look online for local WAHM'S and wondered, how many other people have given up after a short, fruitless search? She knew she had to do something! The Boise Cloth Diapers website is the end result of Joy's dream. In 2007 Joy moved to Alaska and that's where I come in. With the birth of my third child, I realized there was more out there than disposable diapers. I was appalled to find out what disposable diapers are made of and was happy to find out there was a much cheaper way to diaper my baby. Since then, I've cloth diapered 6 more babies. I've saved over $12,000.00 cloth diapering my babies. It is my goal to spread the word that there is more than one way to diaper our babies. Cloth diapers are better for babies, the environment, and our budgets! And, we can experience the instant gratification of buying diapers from our neighbors. We don't have to wait for packages to arrive in the mail anymore! We don't have to pay shipping! And, we can see and touch before we buy!
